As we gear up for another busy registration season, I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding KidSport Saskatoon.
We have recently made some changes to our funding guidelines and grant amounts. KidSport Saskatoon now accepts applications and administers grants of up to $600 per child, per year. We would appreciate it if you could share this information with your Zones as appropriate. We've noticed that some zone hockey websites still contain outdated KidSport information, so any assistance in updating those details would be greatly appreciated.
We have also transitioned to a fully online application process. Families can apply directly through our website here: https://kidsportcanada.ca/
Additionally, I've been receiving quite a few inquiries regarding Jumpstart funding. To help answer those questions, I wanted to share the message families now receive when applying through Jumpstart. This may also be a good opportunity for zones to remove any outdated Jumpstart information from their websites.
Important Message from Jumpstart
Please Note: We've updated how we support families in your community. We will no longer be offering the Individual Child Grant program in this region.
To better meet the long-term needs of children and youth, Jumpstart is focusing its investments on community-based initiatives that create more sustainable, affordable access to sport and play. These investments include Community Development Grants, support for infrastructure and equipment, and partnerships with sport organizations that help remove barriers to participation.
We understand this change may be disappointing for some families. This decision reflects our commitment to supporting safe, affordable, and inclusive opportunities for as many children as possible in ways that have a long-lasting impact.
All funds raised in your community will continue to support local kids through these initiatives.
For more information, please review the Frequently Asked Questions section of our website. We also encourage families to explore other financial assistance programs available in their region.
Thank you for your assistance in helping keep families informed. If you have any questions or require additional information, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
KARLEE DUDA
